The new Highway Code will become law on 29th January 2022
There is now a new "road user hierarchy" meaning drivers of more dangerous vehicles (such as cars, vans, buses and lorries) must be extra careful around those lower in the hierarchy (such as cyclists and pedestrians)
Cyclists also get priority when it comes to roundabouts and are generally given priority over vehicles in most situations. And cyclists are advised to ride in the middle of the road including riding two abreast.
Advice is Always be aware of Cyclists and Pedestrians. They have Road Rights too.
